Social media support students to share their experiences with other students. Mobility adds thefreedom of time and place. The paper presents the result of the development of Mobile Social MediaApplication for Learning Calculus and the implementation of the use of this application as a part of theteaching and learning activities in second semester 2011/2012 in Mathematics Department, SemarangState University, Indonesia. The research question of this study was how can the use of mobile socialmedia application promote learning? The aims of the study were to develop the mobile application andto investigate the use of this application as a part of teaching and learning activities. The result wasMobile Social Media Application has been effective to build the experience and improve theconceptual understanding of students.
