摘要

The major aim of special education, in general, is to integrate individuals with general developmentaldisorders into the standard world, our world, in order to make them able to keep up with it and with us.The accurate definition of the educator as well as of the specialized personnel's aims (psychologist,speech therapist, work therapist) is very important in special education so that difficulties are located,ways of facing these difficulties are under discussion, progress is evaluated and new aims areafterwards set. A case study of a student with autism is illustrated by the present paper. The student'sstages are carefully analyzed: from adjustment to the new place, namely the school, up to his learningand interpersonal skills development. In the end, the significance of the interdisciplinary approach tothe autism developmental disorder as well as the continuation of the course at home under theparental assistance is accentuated.
