Review of research literature on critical thinking, shows that there is little agreement about the concept of critical thinking. Dewey explains critical thinking from a philosophical perspective including inquisitiveness, discrimination, test of ideas, and explore various options as an issue. Paul defines critical thinking in two meanings. In restrict aspect, critical thinking is the set of technical skills that will be used solely to criticize opposing views. In a broad sense, critical thinking is community and egotistic tendency and it includes dispositions and personality characterizes.Methodology:This was a descriptive, comparative research. Systematic Review was done in internal resources including magiran SID,Iranmedex and foreign including Springer, Ovid, Elsevier,Cinhal, Blackwell, from 1990 to 2012 with the key words critical thinking, education, nursing, nursing education and critical thinking disposition.Domestic and foreign literature about critical thinking disposition in nursing education separately was classified. Classification of foreign studies was done to aim of comparison of critical thinking dispositions in Asia and other countries.Results:Literature review was conducted within the indicated number of articles about critical thinking disposition in nursing students was limited to four articles. The results of these studies show a low level of critical thinking in nursing students tend to be unstable. Review of literature in other countries show that critical thinking disposition is considered more than Iran. A number of studies that examine the following critical thinking in nursing students are discussed further. In addition, studies conducted in other countries compared subgroups based on questionnaires California Critical Thinking Disposition in Asian and other countries in some subgroups show differences.Conclusion:Low critical thinking disposition score in Iranian students can be indicative of the current curriculum that doesn't use modern educational methods in nursing education which shows the need to revise the nursing curriculum. Differences in culture can also be involved in different critical thinking dispositions scores at Asian and other countries.
