摘要

The incorporation of Information Technology and Communication, ICT, is essential to an educationalsystem of quality in teaching and learning processes. ICTs have generated significant changes insociety, which have been a strong influence in the field of education, forming new models of trainingwhere the role played by teachers and students differs partially from the traditional way. In regard tomethodological point, ICTs offer new forms of communication, collaboration and participation intraining processes. The e-learning models provide a high level of training quality at the same time theyallow to build flexible teaching-learning environments without restrictions by space, distance or time.Furthermore, the application of ICT to the field of training facilitates the change from a traditionaleducational paradigm. In this context the subject of charts was developed on Dokeos platform sincethis issue is very important in the presentation of information. Dokeos platform was used because it isan online learning suite based on open source software and provides all features that an onlinelearning application requires from authorship of courses to reports.The aim of this work was to adapt the charts theme in the subjects of Statistics which are teaching atthe FESC, into an e-learning model in order to (a) optimize its contribution to the content, skills andcompetencies that students should possess; (b) integration of statistical software in courses tohighlight applications to actual problems and contexts of concepts and methods, (c) the developmentof interactive materials that facilitate their updating and learning by experimentation, (d) the use of amodel of continuous assessment that guides and prepares students in their training, and (g) thepromotion of collaborative learning on-line by assigning projects and activities to be performed inworkgroups.
