Mecatronics is an Engineering branch focused on the study, design and production of new productsthat combine mechanics, electronics optics, advanced management and computerization.Mecatronics, as an emerging discipline, shows enormous potential technologies that have becomemore necessary in the last decade as the appearance of sophisticated products and systems hasbeen growing up. Nowadays, the production processes of most of the electronic devices and systemsrequire an important application of mecatronics (e.g.: Satellites or artificial pacemakers). These kindsof devices would have never appeared without the important participation of mecatronics in theirdevelopment or just by using one isolated discipline. A single view of the most interesting industrialsectors such as automotion, aerospatial, biotechnology, electronics or robotics shows the scientificand strategic importance of this speciality.
