摘要

Previous research has shown that the differences in amino acid bias between classes of viruses are sufficiently distinct that viruses can be successfully classified by genome type on the basis of their amino acid distributions. Hickey, et. al.[3-5] provide evidence that GC bias is a major cause of amino acid bias. This paper investigates the hypothesis that differences in GC bias are the underlying cause of the differences in amino acid composition of the different viral genome types.
