Tests are carried out to study the mechanical performances of unequal-diameter and equal-diameter spun-cast prestressed steel fiber reinforced concrete pole. These performances mainly include cracking-strength, crack distribution and width, deflection and ultimate bearing capacity. It is proved that, with proper amount of steel fiber, the pole has the super performance of crack closing and deformation recovery. The cracking-strength, ultimate deflection and ductile failure property of the pole are obviously improved, the maximum crack width decreases, and the ultimate bearing capacity increases to some extent. The design methods are proposed for the ultimate bearing capacity, the cracking-strength, the maximum crack width and the deflection of spun-cast prestressed steel fiber reinforced concrete pole. The applications of this new technique in electric-power transmission line projects are mainly introduced.
