Design of distributed wastewater treatment systems

Wastewater treatment system integration is an important research topic in water resource conservation. Distributed wastewater treatment system (DWTS) received much attention recently. In the design of DWTS, our group proposed an important methodology insight: it is very important to minimize unnecessary stream mixing to reduce total treatment flow rate as much as possible. Based on the above insight, a few methods have been presented for design of DWTS of both single and multiple contaminants.
