The future of thermography in condition monitoring and asset management

Thermography is now developing faster than at any time in its 200 year history. New cameras, applications, and methods are developing but skill and experience are still required to get the most out of thermography. The future of thermography is in advanced equipment, better understanding of the science through better training and more sophisticated analysis. The use of thermography will increase through wider knowledge of the benefits in a wide range of applications in civil, electrical and mechanical engineering. Some, not demanding sophisticated analysis will be met by low cost, less sophisticated cameras that will become ubiquitous condition monitoring tools.
