Today, the competition between companies becomes ever fiercer, independently of business where they work. The profit margin for manufactured products is very small, causing companies seek to reduce their manufacturing costs and optimize its process. This is no different in telecommunications cables business.In LAN cable manufacturing process, packaging operation of final product significantly influences the final quality. Factors like pressure of machine buffer, line speed and coil format (size) can interfere with electrical cable performance.Therefore, there is a necessity of improving this process (maximum speed, the ideal roll size and pressure conditions) without losing product quality, reducing costs and optimizing this process.So, the purpose of this study is to develop an optimize of winding process, using DOE, ANOVA and Taguchi Method, verifying three factors in that process: (1) Process speed, (2) air pressure on the buffer and (3) coil size. The influence of these factors will be measured in three electrical parameters in LAN cables (to category 6 U/UTP - Insertion loss, Return loss and near end crosstalk).
