Stylus vs finger performance of Thai characters writing on tablet

Touch-based interaction is becoming common for computing devices. The study of input device performance on touch screen devices provide knowledge for user-end and support computing device designers. Therefore, this research studies performance of using stylus versus finger for writing Thai characters on a tablet. The questionnaire results show that most subject belief that using a stylus on a tablet is better than using a finger, but the experimental results show that using a finger give higher accuracy (2.46%) than a stylus while stroke writing simple to medium difficulty characters. Only complicated stroke writing case the stylus writing gives higher accuracy result (8.08%) than finger writing.
