In water-jet propulsor, pumps are the necessary part of the whole system, so are key components for the system performance. In order to evaluating the noises of the water-jet pump by testing low frequency radiation noise from underwater pump model, a measurement system base on vector sound intensity method was being recommended. This system realizes the scanning test of the vector hydrophone around a half cylinder surround the pump model, then actualized the sound power form formulization. Verification tests via standard sound sources indicate that the absolute measurement error is less than ±2dB, and the repeatability error is less than ±1.5dB. It fits for the comparative measurements and qualitative evaluation of water-jet pump radiated noise very well.
