In water-jet propulsor, pumps are the necessary part of the wholesystem, so are key components for the system performance. In order toevaluating the noises of the water-jet pump by testing low frequencyradiation noise from underwater pump model, a measurement systembase on vector sound intensity method was being recommended. Thissystem realizes the scanning test of the vector hydrophone around ahalf cylinder surround the pump model, then actualized the soundpower form formulization. Verification tests via standard sound sourcesindicate that the absolute measurement error is less than ±2dB, and therepeatability error is less than ±1.5dB. It fits for the comparativemeasurements and qualitative evaluation of water-jet pump radiatednoise very well.
