This study examined the properties of DOM obtained from various lakes and streams at Soya Coast,East Dronning Maud Land,East Antarctica(n = 81).The samples were analyzed for basic water chemistry,humic substances concentration,UV-vis spectroscopy,and excitation emission matrix spectroscopy(EEM).The EEM results were further analyzed by parallel factor analysis,and five components were validated.The compositions and optical properties of DOM differed considerably between water types,such as streams vs lakes,fresh vs saline lakes,and pore water vs lakes directly fed by a glacier.
