摘要

Part surface defects can be prevented or minimized by using a cascade molding process with valve gates opening sequentially at controlled speeds. The process dynamics of cascade injection molding were investigated and simulated in the Autodesk Moldflow Insight (AMI) simulation software. Molding trials were performed with sequential valve gates opening at full speed and at variable speeds, respectively using Synventive hot runners equipped with SynFlow~R. The experimental results were compared with the predicted results from the simulation software and good agreement was obtained.
