THAI TO ENGLISH IMAGE TRANSLATOR ON ANDROID

摘要

Our project is a mobile application running on the Android operating system and captures an image on a Thai language sign with correct Thai wording. This process can be all done through the camera on an Android device. The process is to obtain the result based on Noise Filtering, Alphabet segmentation and the OCR algorithm. Preliminary results of matching characters show an average of 90% correctness. Furthermore, the translation process, translating from Thai into the English language, will be done by utilizing a dictionary in the database. After processing and interpreting the results, several errors occur because of the curved and contiguous characteristics of Thai font.
