The design and construction of a soil water content sensor with temperature compensation using the piecewise linear interpolation method was presented in this paper. The sensor out put often influenced by temperature, so temperature compensation must be given. This work presents the design, construction, and circuitry system, method of temperature compensation and preliminary results of experiment. The result of experiment indicates that the sensor could effectively reduce the influence of the soil type and temperature change. It is applicable to the geological disaster early warning and the agronomic research activities.
