Overall objective of the project is to identify and purify Kraft lignin demethylating enzyme(s) from fungi. Stages: 1. Screening of fungal collection. 2. Development of suitable assays. 3. Enzyme purification and characterization. As part of the screening, we started using SIFT-MS (Selected ion flow tube - mass spectroscpe).
