Tissue machine builders continue to offer newer, faster more sophisticated products. Those that continue to utilize press felts are primarily in the Crescent Former design. Some are now running at speeds exceeding 7000 fpm (2100+ mpm). To meet the ever increasing demands of the modern machines and at the same time satisfy the customers' need for increased productivity and/or reduced energy costs, clothing suppliers have been challenged to develop more advanced products.
