The actual seismic exploration encounters complex random medium, the seismic wave-field theory in conventional layered medium has' been unable to meet the high-resolution seismic work's demands, we should develop the seismic wave-field theory in inhomogeneous medium. Firstly, the specific algorithm of 3D random medium using fractal method is given. Further more, we introduce a 3D tapering function to suppress discrete modeling errors. Finally, by constructing several 3D random medium models, we briefly discuss the impact of scale coefficient and Hurst exponent on the simulation results, and find a good agreement: simulating 3D random medium upon fractal method is more convenient and flexible.
