Comparison of different blood storage and transport temperature effects on PRRSV ELISA results

Serology is an important diagnostic tool used by swine practitioners. From collection, to transportation, to a laboratory, serum samples may be subjected to various environmental factors that have potential to alter the results. A practical concern with refrigeration of samples is the biosecurity risks associated with introduction of a cooler on site for samples. The objective of this study was to determine the effect of temperature on serology results, using PRRS ELISA titers as an example of antibody integrity.
