In recent years, bio-renewable resins have received significant attention as alternatives to petroleum-based materials due to their low cost, adequate mechanical properties, and superior environmental impact. Bio-polymers derived from agricultural oils have been reported over the last decades using a variety of polymerization methods, such as free radical, cationic and ring-opening metathesis polymerization (ROMP). Bio-renewable-resins have also been used to make composite materials with glass fibers, carbon nano-tubes, nanoclays, and natural fibers.
