Many studies have already been carried out and many commercial applications are widely applied to improve the performances of mining operations. Software to optimize the shovel-trucks cycle for surface mining are widely used. However, there have been quite few studies aiming to improve the entire operation process of underground mining. This article first introduces the motivation, the technical background, and then the objective of the study. A technique is proposed and described to address the issue. The method and basic algorithm which can be used are presented and discussed. The suggested method can be used to improve operational performance in more detailed machine scheduling, response to unexpected events more promptly, and forecast budget of capital expense and operational expense more precisely. We find that this technique is worthy of further study.
