SYNTHESIS AND ANTIOXIDANT ACTIVITY OF HYDRAZINE SUGAR DERIVATIVES

Hydrazines, hydrazones and hydrazides and their derivatives constitute an important class of compounds in organic chemistry. These compounds have interesting biological properties such as anti-inflammatory and analgesic activity as well as chelating properties towards various metal ions. The synthetic efforts for this class of compounds are very well studied and generally entail the reaction of carbonyl compounds with hydrazine in organic solvents.
