ARISS 2015 Status Report

2015 has been a year of growth and changefor the ARISS Program. Last year ARISSlost all support from NASA education. As aresult, the ARISS-US team, in concert withNASA, restructured its support withinNASA to keep ARISS alive. This year weare working with the ARISS internationalteam to focus our strategies—our vision,mission, development, operations andexternal engagement—to sustain and growARISS into the future. Achievingsustainment and long-term growth willrequire close relationships, capital and inkindsupport from our space agencypartners, the amateur radio community,corporate and strategic partners. It will alsorequire writing and winning grant proposalsfrom foundations to move our objectives andgoals forward. This paper describes theARISS activities and events that wereaccomplished this year and presents anoverview of ARISS’ sustainment andgrowth fundraising initiative that is currentlyunderway. It should also be noted thatARISS international celebrates its 15th yearof continuous operation later this year andits 20th anniversary as an international teamin late 2016.
