摘要

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the sit-to-walk performance of elderly individuals using a portable acceleration monitoring device and determine whether there was a difference between the body center of gravity (COG) accelerations during the sit-to-walk motions of fall experienced and inexperienced elderly persons. A portable acceleration monitoring device is easy to employ in a clinical setting. The results showed that the time from the sit-to-walk initiation to the first step, the time from the first step to the second step, the time from the second step to the third step, the time from the second-to-the-last step to the last step, and the time from the last step to the sit-to-walk termination of the fall-experienced group were significantly longer than those of the fall- inexperienced group. In addition, the amplitude accelerations from the sit-to-walk initiation to the first step, from the first step to the second step, from the second step to the third step, from the second- to-the-last step to the last step, and from the last step to the sit-to-walk termination of the fall -experienced group were significantly smaller than those of the fall-inexperienced group.
