CREATIVE THINKING BY ISRAELI CIVILIANS IN DEALING WITH INTERNECINE CONFLICT

Israel has been in a situation of internecine conflict, one that is mutually destructive and ruinous to both sides, for many years. I believe that creative thinking can help civilians meet the challenges in daily living that result from internecine conflict. Numerous investigators conceptualized ideational fluency as an essential component in the creative thinking process (Guilford, 1950, 1956; Hong & Milgram, 2008; Wallach & Kogan, 1965). Based on this conceptualization, measures of creative thinking have been developed (Guilford, 1967; Torrance, 1999). These instruments have been used for many years in most empirical studies of creativity (Kaufman & Sternberg, 2006).
