Analysis of polarization characteristics of soft x-ray beam at INDUS-1 reflectivity beamline

In the Brewster angle geometry, a multilayer mirror reflects s-polarization component and suppresses the p-polarization componentfrom the incident beam. In the present study a Mo/Si multilayer of d=97A, N=20 layer pairsis used to analyze the polarization characteristics of SR beam of 130A wavelengthat theexperimental station of the reflectivity beamline of Indus-1 synchrotron source. The SR beam polarization characteristics are analyzed at various vertical height at the experimental station. The degree of linear polarization (DOLP) and degree of circular polarization (DOCP) have been evaluated for each vertical height. It is shown that the SR beam at the experimental station of the beamline has 83% DOLP and it gradually decreases with increasing vertical height, on the other hand DOCP increases from 54% to 98%.
