摘要

As the reality of climate change continues to sink in, it is becoming increasingly clear that information about short term Holocene climate variability is vital to understanding the consequences of global warming. Recent studies in Mongolia demonstrate the vulnerability of this nation's population, economy, and traditional nomadic culture to climate change and to extreme events (Nandintsetseg, Greene, & Goul-den, 2007).
