A CRITIQUE OF REGULATORY COMPOST AND DIGESTATE QUALITY LIMITS

摘要

The composting and aerobic digestion of household green waste and kitchen waste is now a major or developing management route for these wastes in most of the EU and worldwide. The products from these biological processes (composts and digestates) maybe used in growing media or applied to soil, especially agricultural soils as soli conditioners and fertilisers. Used growing media may also be incorporated into soil by many amateur and professional gardeners. Therefore recycling to soil is likely to be the ultimate fate of most composts and digestates around Europe.
