Bioreactor concept is applied for many years in France to accelerate waste biodegradation. Two key points control this process: an efficient hydraulic network allowing homogenous leachate recirculation in waste body and a strategic biogas collection. The geophysical method of Electrical Resistivity Tomography (ERT) is one of the ways used to evaluate the efficiency of these systems. Implementation and utilization of electrical resistivity equipments are well known for a long time, but data interpretation is still uncertain especially for heterogeneous medium. Different softwares are developed to propose 2D or 3D interpreted resistivity imaging but basic hypothesis, such as semi-infinite medium, is not always respected. Moreover, the numerous options for inversion process allow different data interpretations, sometimes debatable. For example, resistivity increases observed during recirculation event can be linked to artifacts of inversion process or to leachate diffusion influence.
