Nematological survey study was conducted along 2-year period (2011-2012) to identify plant-parasitic nematodes associated with peanut plants cultivated in Egypt. A total of 12 phytoparasitic nematode genera were found in total 293 composite soil and root samples collected from the surveyed peanut fields 93, 177 and 23 from Alexandria, El-Behera and Giza governorates, respectively. The root-knot nematode, Meloidogyne arenaria was the most prevalent nematode in all collected soil samples, with frequency of occurrence (FO) 40.9-66.7% and population densities (PD) 205-304 J2/250 cm~3 soil. Tylenchorhynchus spp. occurred with 35.5-39.1% FO and PD of 81-101 individuals/250 cm3 soil.
