T4 resected gastric adenocarcinoma - a brazilian multicentric study

In general T4 tumors are seen as very advanced or non-operable disease, nevertheless, several cases can be treated with curative intent1. The decision to operate those cases has to consider the age and performance status of patients2. The surgical risk, have to analyze the expectance of survival and the operative mortality3. Even when performing palliative resections it seems that the quality of life is superior when compared to other types of palliation4.
