A new online-methodology for assessing the spatial distribution of crop residues and evaluation of tillage effects

Measurement of percent residue cover is up to now done in a consecutive way employing methods of manual counting by the help of technician operators. A new methodology is presented where digital image processing is used to distinguish mulch and soil particles. The percentage of cover can be given as a control signal to the driver continuously.
