An electric-oil-pump (EOP) control algorithm for the AT-based two-shaft parallel hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) was developed in this study. This study proposed the multistage control method, where in the EOP operation depends on the driving mode, and a control algorithm that reduces the electric load by decreasing the EOP operation speed according to the AT oil pump operation speed. The proposed control algorithm was verified using the HEV hydraulic-performance simulator and bench tester. While satisfying the required line pressure, the energy consumption values of EOP were analyzed to identify the hydraulic performance, using the control algorithm that reduces the energy consumption of EOP for various vehicle acceleration.
