This study uses eight-bar linkage to carry out the mechanism design of new hardtop roof type. The UV (Utility Vehicle) is used as the design subject. CAD software is used to carry out hardtop roof mechanism and the simulation of its panel combination so as to confirm that the designed eight-bar linkage mechanism could be moved completely without dead point and interference, and the entire mechanism could complete the closing action.
