However, in spite of the impressive reduction in restenosis, problems remain with the current generation of drug eluting stent (DES), attention has shifted to the safety of DES because of evidence suggesting an association with stent thrombosis. This study reports on a novel dual drug-eluting stent (DDES) that has an anti-proliferative and an antithrotnbotic in a biodegradable polymer coated onto a cobalt-chromium stent.
