Certain factors related to the processing of protein hydrolysates produced by the proteolytic digestion of a given raw material may have limiting or negative effects on the performance of the final product in eukaryotic cell systems. Application of a novel approach to the digestion and processing of plant-derived raw materials yields high-quality hydrolysates, with increased lot-to-lot consistency and enhanced performance characteristics, for use in eukaryotic biopharmaceutical production systems.
