Introducing mobile services in the 790-862 MHz band How many TV households might suffer from interference?

This paper reports on national investigation of the potential interference to broadcasting channels below 790 MHz when introducing mobile services (e.g. IMT) in the band 790-862 MHz. This investigation is a follow-up of some CEPT studies about regulatory radiation limits which mitigate the impact of adjacent-channel interference from fixed/mobile communication network base stations (BSs) in the 790-862 MHz Digital Dividend spectrum to digital terrestrial television (DTT) services below 790 MHz. Two set of studies have been realized in France to refine these studies taking into account some additional assumptions such a real implementation of IMT base stations, real DTT planning configuration and digital terrain model. An estimation of the number of households which might suffer from interference is also estimated in addition to the percentage of locations. The number of interfered people is in the range of 0.6% (using practical studies) to 2% (using theoretical studies).
