The radio television camera system has additional transmission channels which are accommodated in the 1MHz wide gaps in bands IV/V at 8 MHz spacings. At the transmitter the television signal is sub-divided by an arrangement of filters into n frequency regions each of which has a bandwidth of less than 1 MHz. To transmit these frequencies n carrier signals are used whose frequencies are chosen so that the n sideband signals resulting from SSB amplitude modulation are transmitted in n of the 1 MHz gaps at spacings of 8 MHz. At the receiver the television signal is retrieved by demodulating the sidebands or frequency packets.
