To integrate recyclability in the design of future products using batteries will be key for the success of battery recycling in the future. Many metals used in batteries make up only small material flows. Recycling of small quantities of materials is often economically not viable. Setting up a recycling plant only in Austria to recycle battery metals is economically not viable due to missing economies of scale.
