Children implicated in bullying: mind understanding and awoidance of responsibility

School bullying not only affects a victim and an aggressor, but also includes an audience, a defender of the victim or a reinforcer of the aggressor (Salmivalli et al. 1996; Olthof & Goossens, 2008). The objective of this study is trying to define main traits of bullying roles among children aged 13-16 years old, around two variables: mind understanding and avoidance of responsibility. In order to attain this goal, 411 children with ages ranging from 13 to 16 years old were administered the Participant Role Scale (Salmivalli et al. 1996), the Eyes test (Baron-Cohen et al. 1997), and the Powell Avoidance of Responsability Scale (PARS), (Powell et al., 1997). Results didn't show significant differences between participant roles in bullying in both variables: mind understanding and responsibility. It is expected that these results have a direct impact on the applied aspects of intervention.
