1)Exactive orbitrap MS/Sieve differential expression analysis software, using accurate mass data without the use of a target list, was able to detect, extract and correctly identify two potato glycoalkaloids in six dry dog food matrices (concentration range 3ng/g to 72ug/g for solanine and 2ng/g to 93ug/g for chaconine). 2) The Exactive was able to produce ion ratios for the confirmation of identity and to correctly quantify sample concentrations with results comparable to an AB Sciex 5500 triple quadrupole MS. 3) All six potato containing dog foods contained glycoalkaloids but only one had levels above the acceptable limit of 200ppm total glycoalkaloids.
