摘要

Single thread analysis using IR-MALDESI as a source for mass spectrometric analysis is a distinct possibility for future forensic applications. The technique requires more in depth study and experimentation to determine the extent of how successful it is at analyzing single threads and fibers. Certain dye classes do not ionize well and thus IR-MALDESI MS analysis may not work well for those particular classes. Isomers can be resolved either with mass resolution or energetically by calculating CE_(50).
