We have demonstrated the utility of UV-IF, GELFREE and top-down mass spectrometry for the identification and quantification of whole proteins from multiprotein complexes such as the protea-some. We are working to optimize the efficiency and sample recovery of ribosome protein fractionation so as to facilitate the comparison of intact ribosomal proteins obtained from yeast grown under different conditions.
