1.A GC-MS method has been developed for the one step qualitative and semi-quantitative analysis of broad range compounds dissolved in DMSO. 2. An online derivatization technique (silylation) was adopted for analysis directly from multi-well plates. 3. A variety of GC-MS parameters and silylating reagents were tested and optimal conditions determined for a one step analysis of a wide range of compounds. 4. Over 1200 high quality electron ionization mass spectra and gas chromatography RIs of medically and environmentally important compounds were obtained and will be added to the NIST/NIH/EPA Mass Spectral Library.
