Type 2 diabet es (T2D) has become a major health issue worldwide, it is also believed that there is a link between liver mitochondrial dysfunction and insulin resistance. To date, limited information is available regarding systematic protein expression changes in liver mitochondria in T2D. To further understand the link between insulin resistance and liver mitochondria dysfunction in T2D, we have used quantitative proteomic analysis to study a model of insulin resistance that progressively develops diabetes under high fat diet in mice.
