IDENTIFICATION OF THE APELIN PEPTIDES IN BOVINE COLOSTRUM USING LIQUID CHROMATOGRAPHY-HIGH RESOLUTION MASS SPECTROMETRY.

摘要

This is the first time that apelin peptides are comprehensively identified and characterized in bovine colostrum. Our study asks for physiological investigation regarding the impact on the developing calf of the apelin forms and their evolution observed from colostrum to milk. The effect on human health of the apelin peptides ingested with commercial bovine milk should be addressed. In this way, using the method presented here we have analyzed human colostrum and milk samples. However, no apelin peptide was detected up to now. Development of more sensitive methods is currently on going to investigated human apelin peptides family in colostrum and milk.
