MAD provides unique and complementary product ions compared to CID and ETD. MAD generally provides better sequence coverage with fewer neutral losses than CID or ETD. MAD provides more positive PTM locations (1 missed) than CID (4 missed) or ETD (6 missed). Product ion assignments are less confident in MAD because of poor S/N and poor resolution. Product ion spectra take longer to collect in MAD because of poor S/N ratios.
