LTP is a promising tool for easy screening of chemical compounds on a filter surface without the need for sample prepation. This can be extended to other surfaces. Though LTP can be considered a soft ionization technique, it is evident that some fragmentation occurs. This enables the method to be used for identification of unknown compounds. PCA groups the data, but there is a significant overlap between groups.
